Expiry Log (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have when using the Expiry Log mobile application.

Expiry Log is designed to function primarily as an offline-first application. We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or account credentials.

The data we may collect includes:

• On-Device Data
  Certifications, licences, expiry dates, and related information you enter are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly trigger a server-related action.
• Device Identifiers
  A non-user-identifying device identifier may be generated and stored to:
  • Support push notification delivery
  • Enforce rate limits and abuse protection
  • Process server-side actions such as data deletion
  This identifier does not directly identify you as an individual.
• Push Notification Tokens (APNs)
  If you enable notifications, Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) tokens are collected and stored to deliver expiry reminders.
• Technical & Diagnostic Data
  Limited technical information such as app version, device model, and operating system version may be sent to our server for:
  • Compatibility checks
  • Update availability verification
  • Service reliability and security monitoring

2. How We Use This Information

Collected data is used strictly to operate and maintain the app:

• Provide expiry reminders and notifications
• Ensure app compatibility and version support
• Protect against misuse or abuse of backend services
• Process user-initiated data deletion requests

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or tracking across apps or services.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

Data may be processed by essential service providers (such as Apple’s Push Notification Service) solely to deliver core app functionality.

4. Data Retention

• Local app data remains on your device until you delete it.
• Device identifiers and push tokens are retained only as long as necessary to provide notifications and backend functionality.
• You may request deletion of server-stored data at any time via the app.

5. Your Choices & Controls

You are always in control of your data:

• Notifications: You may enable or disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
• Delete Data: You may delete all locally stored data and request server-side deletion directly from within the app.
• Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all locally stored data.

6. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data processed by our services. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or best practices. The effective date will be updated accordingly.
